Bring
your workers’ compensation costs under control
You
may have heard that workers’ compensation rates are going
to be low for many years to come. The fact is, your current
rates are subject to a market over which you have very little
control – low this year, high the next.
Through group self
funding, members of AlaCOMP own and control their own
workers’ compensation program. The Board of Trustees establish
policy, set rates and oversee the management of the program. As
members work together for the benefit of the Fund, good performance
may be rewarded with dividends, a benefit you don’t get with
most commercial programs.
Proven
history of performance
AlaCOMP, now in its thirteenth year, provides a safe, reliable
and competitive
workers’ compensation market for members of its co-sponsoring associations.
In addition, AlaCOMP has paid a dividend to eligible members every year since
its inception.
How
we do it
• Medical claims cost controlled through a network of statewide Preferred
Provider Organizations available to each member.
• Stringent Loss Control programs with added emphasis on Drug Free programs
and OSHA compliance.
• Loss Control personnel working on safety programs designed to prevent
accidents from occurring.
• Highly trained claims professionals handle claims reported and work with
employers and injured workers to expedite a return to work
as promptly as possible.
• Trained field investigators to investigate questionable claims and determine
actual facts and circumstances surrounding serious and questionable injuries.
• Toll free telephone number provided to employers to facilitate communication
between the employer and the Service Company.
• Claims data information provided to the employer to keep abreast of the
cost and progress of the claim.
These are just a few of the efforts made to assist you in controlling
the cost
of your workers’ compensation.
